The DE Beam Control Conference is the premier conference in DOD laser beam power projection and was recently expanded to include sessions dedicated to free-space laser communications and advanced adaptive optics. This year's meeting was co-located with Advanced High Power Lasers (AHPL) and included joint sessions with AHPL. Registrants for the Beam Control Conference were able to attend sessions of AHPL without additional registration fees if they meet the participation criteria
As a forum for these considerations, the seventh annual Beam Control Conference investigated issues surrounding the employment of DE weapons. The 2012 DE Beam Control Conference maintained its focus as the premier DOD conference in laser beam power projection, while also including sessions dedicated to space situational awareness, free-space laser communication, and advanced adaptive optics. Conference Highlights
Proceedings The Beam Control Conference published combined proceedings with the AHPL, including both presentation materials and formal papers. Proceedings were produced at both the public release and limited distribution levels and provided to conference attendees free of charge. Others can purchase the proceedings through our Online Store. Tours of the Sources and Detectors Group laboratory facilities at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder were offered to registrants. This group, a part of the NIST Physical Measurement Laboratory, conducts activities in fiber sources and applications, laser radiometry, and high speed measurements.
