UNCLASSIFIED, PUBLIC RELEASE High Power Microwave Effects and Source Testing Capability and Infrastructure at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland AFB These capabilities include a very large anechoic chamber (75’ x 75’ x 50’), three smaller anechoic chambers, and several outdoor ranges. We have used these facilities to develop the gigawatt-class HPM sources and systems for counter-drone applications (THOR—Tactical High power microwave Operational Responder), perform effects testing and outdoor testing vs. small drones.
