CDEW Solutions for Platforms and Facilities
Modern missions face a broad range of electromagnetic threats, including Directed Energy, Electromagnetic Pulse, Intentional Electromagnetic Interference (IEMI), contested spectrum, congested spectrum, and even naturally occurring threats from solar weather. The ability to resiliently operate in this challenging environment is essential platforms in the field and for the facilities that conduct/support the mission. Solutions are needed for already-built or deployed platforms and facilities, and for new platforms and facilities where high levels of CDEW capability must be well integrated. Options to both retrofit and as-built integration for platform level shielding and facilities will be presented, including coatings, composite products, lightweight cabling and conduits, and others. Transport, storage, and operational threats can also be protected with lightweight shielded cases and enclosures. Test data at the materials level, enclosure, systems, and facility levels for relevant frequencies of EMP and HPM will be presented and discussed.
