Advancements in the Manufacture of DE Gain Fiber and Combiners

The manufacture of High Energy Laser (HEL) system components requires precision and repeatability. OFS maintains an ongoing program to assess production capability to manufacture DE combiners and gain fiber. This assessment is informed by internal data as well as feedback from customers using OFS products. The information is used to develop action plans that support valued-added improvement projects.
In previous years, OFS improvement projects have focused on design and process improvements for increased production capacity. This year’s projects target improvements in product reliability benefiting OFS and our customers. This talk will highlight ways OFS has refined product design and testing to ensure product requirements are continually met for DE combiners and fibers.
